MISSION STATEMENT

Islamic Arts Society aims to share the rich heritage of arts in Islamic Arts. The society  organizes events to celebrate our culture and promote the positive image of our community among Muslims and non-Muslims. Art is a common language and binds diverse communities. By promoting Islamic arts we hope to promote mutual understanding and to bring the broader American community together.

OUR PROGRAMS

Family Eid Day

IAS is collaborating with The Asia Society to bring the first ever Eid Festival at the Asia Society. The event will feature a Grand Hall Bazaar, Islamic Calligraphy, Henna, Ebru Water Marbling Exhibition, Folk Dancing, Eid Greeting Cards. This event is FREE and open to the public. World Refugee Day Houston

IAS will be collaborating with Inter-Faith Ministries to observe the World Refugee Day. The event will serve to highlight the creative contributions of refugees here in Houston while raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. Thursday June 20th, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston).

AsiaFest 2019

Arts Month at Lone Star College Tomball Library

Islamic Arts Display for the month of July followed by Art Workshop. This event is part of our Library Outreach Program and is being held in collaboration with the Lone Star College in Tomball. Henna with IAS

IAS artist Zohra Siddiqui will do a henna workshop for teenagers as part of the Summer Reading program at the R.F. Meador Branch Library in Willis, TX. Thursday 11th of July 709 W. Montgomery, Willis, TX 77378

ISNA 56th Annual Convention, Houston

Islamic Arts Society is honored to curate an arts program at the ISNA 56th annual convention. Come and enjoy the rich tradition of Arts in Islam. Open to Public. ANNUAL ISLAMIC ARTS FESTIVAL

Islamic Arts Festival is the biggest of its kind in the Americas! See over 10,000 sq feet of a variety of Islamic Art. This year the Festival will also feature “Refugee Art” from overseas and locally.
The two day Islamic Arts Festival is the largest and oldest festival of its kind in North America and attracts over 5000 people each year. The art show will feature the art of over 40 artists. In addition there will be live interactive sessions on calligraphy, henna tattoo, Ebru, painting, Arabesque pattern coloring and lots of children’s activities. Have a fun day with the family with kids activities, halal food trucks and great art. 
The festival will be held at Masjid AlSalam, 16700 Old Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379.
The event is free and everyone is welcome for this fun filled family oriented event!

IAS SCHOOL PROGRAM

Want to help Build Bridges through Arts?

Bring the “Islamic Arts 101 Program” to your child’s school.

Cost: $300

Each 1-hour program includes:

* A brief introduction to Islamic Arts.

* A focused art class tailored to the age group.

* A workshop to teach calligraphy, henna, ebru, geometric art or arabesque.

Cost: $500

Each program includes:

A month-long display of Islamic arts

A one-hour reception/ mingle to introduce visitors about Islamic arts.

IMGH: Friends of Iman InterFaith Iftar

IAS will take part in Friends of Iman and Interfaith Ministries Iftar. In this mixed-faith gathering, Muslims and Christians will join together in conversation. We’ll share a traditional iftar (evening Ramadan meal) as we talk about our personal experiences of faith and sacrifice
